Plans & Preparations

There is nothing quite is wonderful as opening your eyes in the morning and finding your room golden from dappling sunlight. The sun is leaking through the blinds onto the carpet, onto your bed, searching for your face. Then that first, luxurious morning stretch, a deep sigh.

After weeks of living under a thick cover of grey clouds, the sun looked like a golden drop of honey to me. The sky a brilliant blue it hung there in the sky and it put an instant smile on my face. Looking outside to see the trees and the grass covered in a crisp layer of frost, I knew it would be my favourite type of day: clear and cold and sunny.

While I went for a morning walk, I contemplated the past few weeks of the new year. Planning for the time after graduation is well under way (traveling, traveling, more traveling), as well as the stuying schedule. Another project of mine is, commonly enough, getting in shape for spring and summer. After weeks spent inside munching on cookies and chocolate and heavenly cake it is now time to "lighten the load" a little in time for the warmer seasons. It's tough mind work, as any woman probably knows only too well, especially cutting back severly on sugar. But then again, being fit and in shape is a good reason to do it. And looking nice in summer dresses and swimwear ...

All in all, it's been some incredibly work-intense weeks and I am in dire need of some relaxation before the exams begin ... I hope that with careful planning and much discipline, everything will work out as I need it to. Especially since there are really only little more than 1 and a half months of school to complete!

Anxiety and excitement are both present in equal measure in my head, but for the moment at least, anxiety has grown very, very quiet. Picking universities, looking into application forms - all part of the future. For now, I am looking forward to next week, a week of culture and relaxation, spending time with good friends ...

For the moment, there's winter to enjoy. No snow yet - that picture is just wishful thinking - but then again, I almost feel like having spring again!

Hope you are all well!
Love, x
